All CLDWASH textiles used are purchased locally in New Zealand unless specified otherwise. We opt to utilise a cotton rib blend that has a small ammount of spandex to ensure our garments stay fitted and don't stretch overtime for longevity purposes. The material we use is stock material although we endeavour to use deadstock materials where we can and do have plans to incorporate this more into future collections and new season product development.
All CLDWASH garments are cut and sewn in Auckland, New Zealand. This is crucial to our brand to work closely with all manufacturing partners for design and quality control purposes and to ensure quality and standards are high on both sides; firstly, the conditions for the staff making our garments and second, the product. By manufacturing locally, we operate in an ethical supply chain and can do smaller production runs while rapidly repsonding to consumer demand where need be.
All CLDWASH orders are shipped out in recyclable Kraft mailers to keep our plastic waste to a minimum. This impacts the cost of freight slightly, but we aren't satisfied with the existing infrastructure to process soft plastics and the willingness of individuals to return packaging waste to stores. Because we manufacture locally, we're hands on with the delivery of all raw materials and collection of goods post production, so have no need to use single use poly bags. CLDWASH garments don't include a hang tag as we feel that just gets thrown into landfill and only serves a purpose in the retail space.
